Kaddish Recital

  • Appointing someone to say Kaddish

Are you able to say Kaddish? Is it important for you that Kaddish be said in memory of someone dear to you daily?

If for whatever reason the mourner or another relative cannot fulfill his obligation by saying Kaddish during the year of mourning and the actual day of passing, one can appoint with payment a responsible and G-d fearing person to say Kaddish in memory of the deceased. Consequently, the saying of the Kaddish "belongs to" the deceased’s relatives.

At Chabad, we can arrange for Kaddish to be said in memory of the deceased and mention the deceased’s name.

Cost for the recital of the Kaddish for the year – $360

  • Saying Kaddish with payment

Why with payment?  It says in Jewish law that it’s appropriate to say Kaddish with payment, causing it (the recital) to "belong" to the relative, thereby meriting the soul of the deceased to leave after it a righteous and blessed generation.
