The miracle of the oil - What the Greeks misunderstood

In a secular environment, should I keep my beliefs private, or should I strive to be a “light unto the nations?” In a most curious fashion, this question comes up in the story of Chanukah, and the key to the answer is found in the oil.

Donate gifts

Do you want to do a special mitzvah? Do you want to put a smile on a child's face? As part of the CTEEN West Suffolk County program, we have put special box at the entrance of the The Chai Center - Dix Hills, NY Jewish Center to collect any special gifts to give to unfortunate children who are suffering illnesses and are stuck in hospital. This is in honor of the upcoming Chanukah holiday season and any presents you could donate would be greatly appreciated by the children. Make a young child's day!

All the teens are invited to wrap the gifts for the children on Thursday, December 3rd, 7:00 - 8:30pm

Get your own Menorah

Electric menorahs are great for display purposes, and are a wonderful medium for publicizing the Chanukah miracle. But the Chanukah lights used to fulfill the mitzvah should be real flames fueled by wax or oil – like the flames in the Holy Temple.

Please send an email to eilona@chabadmidsuffolk.com to get your own Menorah
